Ever had a feeling that there has to be more to life (I suppose you did, this is that kind of a community :-))? 

As a kid, I would ask myself that very same question, being puzzled by the fact that all we have immediately available is a career and a family (if you're lucky), when I, like so many others, felt there just must be something more to life. I just felt there has to be something more than going through the usual routine of life, and wanted to get in touch with that higher thing.

I found I wasn't very spiritual. No matter how hard I tried to be spiritual, to follow the religious morals and rules that, as some people interpreted it, guaranteed a place in Heaven, I was aware that there was something within me that just wasn't spiritual, and that kept bringing me back to the usual, animalistic way of life, to lies, fear, anger, pride, etc., all of which complicated my life a lot.  

This continued over years, when one day, dissapointed by the lack of depth my life had, realizing that the religion I belonged to can't really offer me the insight I wanted, I've decided to try something different. Soon after that, I found astral travelling. I found that idea very interesting, but I wanted to see if it is something real, so I practiced until I got out of my body and visited the astral plane. It was amazing to get in touch with something more spiritual, superior to the ordinary, physical world. It rekindled my enthusiasm for spirituality. One problem remianed, however, Despite the fact that I could occasionally get to this higher, astral dimension, what I had within me,  in the psyche remained identical. It would always creep back and spoil my astral experiences, and it still made my life difficult. Just experiencing the astral suddenly wasn't enough for me, because it felt silly to just use it for an occasional astral flight, as wonderful as those might be.  However, I couldn't find answers to my questions, until I found gnosticism, but in its modern form. I attended their series of courses.

These gnostics also taught astral travel, but the difference was that they taught about the psyche as well, how its content can be influenced and changed for the better. I found that the things I considered non-spiritual were actually elements of the subconscious, that are fortunately not set in stone. The person who wrote the courses I mentioned earlier, Mark H. Pritchard/Belzebuub explained things in a very clear, practical and profound way, which is what attracted me and still intrigues me. The knowledge I started getting from that point really changed the way I look at certain things, and made my desire for spirituality stronger than ever before. 

And that brought me here. While I'm practising gnosticism and trying to do it right despite all the distractions of life, I wanted to find more like-minded people so we can share our insights. It seems this community is full of wonderful people who are doing just that, so I'm looking forward to meeting you all and participating in the mutually beneficial flow of information. :-)
